Richard W. Humphrey, CFP®, ChFC®
Richard is a founding partner and key member of the Blue Water Wealth Management Group. As a member of the team's investment committee and planning committee, he focuses on developing, implementing, and actively managing customized plans for individuals and their families, as well as providing risk management and investment strategies. Prior to joining Steward Partners in 2020, Richard began his financial planning career at UBS Financial Services, Inc. in 2001. Richard is also a proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran and served four years as an avionics technician. After his service in the military, Richard worked as an associate electrical engineer in research and development for Ametek.
Richard has attained the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification, Chartered Financial Consultant ® designation, Senior Portfolio Manager, and holds the Series 7, 31 and 66 securities licenses, as well as the Florida Health and Life insurance and annuity licenses. In addition, he earned a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of South Florida, graduating Magna Cum Laude.
Richard and his wife, Anita, live in Tampa and enjoy traveling, kayaking, biking, reading, and playing a challenging round of golf. They are blessed to have three children and a large family, spread across the United States. In addition to his career, Richard believes it is vital to give back to his community through service and accountability. He actively supports the Clearwater Jazz Holiday Foundation in its efforts to benefit music education through scholarship and educational activities. Richard has also served as a board member for several community organizations.
